MINNEAPOLIS

Minneapolis is an old industrial city set along the Mississippi River and still maintains some of that rugged Midwestern charm, especially in parts of downtown and the Northeast neighborhood just across the river from downtown. Its musical history is close to my heart - First Avenue music venue, and bands like The Replacements, Hüsker Dü, and Prince calling this place home, adds to the feeling like you know the place before you visit. The city has a strong focus on locally-sourced food, music, and arts that makes for a fun weekend trip. Too cold to live there though!
